Ennobling
February 28, 2010

Heritage Baptist Church, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit is moving toward an exciting future. A future inspired by God, through a new Pastor which God will lead here.

During these days Heritage, like ancient Israel journeying to the Promise Land, must trust the Lord God. After our faith in God, you are the key to Ennobling, Enabling, Empowering and Encouraging. These practical, powerful concepts insure innovation (change). Let’s begin by:

…Ennobling is to inspire, to breath new spirit into the church organizations. There are four elements which are a strategic part of ennobling:

  1. Showing respect to every member and prospective member.
  2. Showing honor to the least and the greatest.
  3. Expect excellence and commitment from others and give no less of yourself.
  4. Provide connectivity; all members are connected through faith in Jesus Christ. No important or unimportant members, all are a part of the body called “the Church”, all with different gifts from God. No one is given more importance than another.

Homework for each of us, is to read, meditate and “force” ourselves to ask:

  1. Am I “showing respect” to every member?
  2. Am I “showing honor” or am I being disrespectful in some manner?
  3. Am I “expecting excellence,” commitment and faithfulness with my time, talent and right now with my giving... Am I committed to tithing?
  4. Am I “providing connectivity” or am I acting like an isolated island trying to get along by myself?

I remind you, as I do myself, there are some of our members who do not attend, that you and I need to “ennoble” by inspiring them through a prayer, visit, phone call, etc.

 Our Challenge…….To “Ennoble!”
Next week we will look at “Enabling”.
